Hi, my name is Tammy and I own the blog Organize Yourself Skinny. You would think that because I write a blog about losing weight that I'm a health nut or an exercise freak. Well I'm not. I'm just a busy working mother who wants to feel good on the inside and look my best on the outside. I spent YEARS being overweight, tired, and unhappy. I wanted better so In October 2010 I decided to change the direction of my life. Meal prep played a huge role in that!

Meal prep can be life changing for many people - it was for me! 

So, what is meal prep? It's preparing food on Sunday (when you have time) so you can eat healthy meals during the week (when time is limited).

Meal prep was the strategy I needed to completely change my eating habits. It’s what finally worked to get my life under control, eat healthier, AND lose weight!

Preparing meals and snacks ahead of time led me to make healthier food choices week after week. All the food I needed was ready so I stopped reaching for fast food and bags of pretzels. After making this change, the weight started to come off and I experienced a 30lb weight loss within about 4 months.  

This is the reason I feel confident saying meal prep was (and still is) a total game changer for me. Not only does it assure that I’ll have healthy meals and snacks ready every day but it reduces so much stress. I don’t worry about what’s for dinner or fueling my body with a nutritious breakfast - I open the refrigerator (or freezer) and there it is. Today if I order a pizza it’s because I want to, not out of necessity.

After the weight came off my life changed! I looked better than I did in my 20s and felt amazing. I never thought losing weight was in the stars for me but all I needed to do was take a step back and put in place strategies that would stick. The #1 weight loss strategy I used (and continued to use) is meal prep.

Day 3: I'll show you, step by step, how I use meal prep to lose weight. Yes meal prep keeps us sane during the week but it's also the most powerful weight loss strategy too! 

Day 4: I'll share my favorite meal prep containers and talk about which recipes I use them for. 

Day 5: This is the day I teach you the different meal prep methods available. I'm confident you'll find something that works for you.

Day 6: On this day I'm going to walk you through how to organize a meal prep day. I know after this lesson you're going to be ready to cook, cook, and cook some more!

Day 7: Don't think you have time to meal prep? Well in this last lesson I'm going to share my best time-saving tips so even the busiest person on the planet can fit meal prep into their schedule. You got this, I'm going to help!
